| Tim Grabs a Hat Trick |

After a promising start to the game on Saturday the 26th of May against Snibston, the game was petering out for a draw. With
one over left Huncote needed 3 wickets for victory, and had little hope. Then, on the second ball there came hope.A nick from the batsman and a fell length dive and catch from super Mitch Hubbard. Was there a chance? 4 balls, 2 wickets needed , Huncote crowded the bat. Another straight, full ball from Tim caught the bat on the way up and PK dived in to take. With the first team back and cheering from the sidelines, Tim trudged back to his mark, looking not only to win the match but also to grab a hat trick. The batsman was surrounded, Geoff, Somner, Al, PK, Eddie, Stan and Mitch all waiting for the mistake. Tim charged in and the batsman played forward. Tim was too quick, the ball span back off the pitch and clipped the bails. Huncote had won!!! Queue mass celebrations on the sidelines. All in all a great result for the seconds and a game to remember!! |
