Max Swords
Max Swords - An Ongoing Injury...
How unlucky is that?? The Huncote 2nd team opening bat has not had a very good year injury wise. His right knee has been the problem and the latest diognosise is one of arthritus. Matty still plays cricket however, but is not as lively as he used to be.

"Obviously I can't run round in the field much," he commented, "but the batting is not too bad, as long as I don't bat with Al Somner too long!!" It does not seemed to have hindered his early season form as he has hit a 51 and 32 in the first two games.

Skipper Tim Kirby has been very please with Matt's contribution, "not only does he score runs, he also has a safe pair of hands," commented Tim. This point was underlined last week when Swords took a sharp catch at midwicket. But what are Max's plans, how is he getting fit?

"Well I have an appointment with a specialist next week and hopefully he can stear me in the right direction, we will have to wait and see. It is nice to know I have the backing of the club and the players but early reports indicate I may have to cut my season short with Huncote around July time for treatment."

This will be a big blow indeed as Huncote mount an attempt to win the league title this year. Hopefully Matty will be OK for the start of next season.
