If you are looking for a specialist fielder, then look no further than Peter Kirby. It is not that he is amazing at fielding,
sure he is good, but what sets him in this role is more the fact he does not appear to be good at any thing else. Great
at turning up, PK rarely misses a game, in fact he played all Sunday games last year, and did not miss a Saturday for one
team or the other.
In a pre season interview this year Kirby commented on his aims for the year, and these appear to try
to look quite good in the field, and again not miss a game. PK has previously played for Soar Valley records
and Thetford cricket club, and holds the record of not scoring a single run in his first season. He used to be a
usefull bowler, but these skills seem to have deserted him!!
Despite his ailing talents PK was a suprise choice for joint Sunday captain with fellow "high" scorer Jamie Smith. He
also took on co-working of the Huncote treasury, and this could provide valuable experience for the furture. Kirby also
seems to have joined the Hubbard ground team, and is seen frequently up the club rolling and mowing.
With a top score of only 31 Pete is looking to beat that this year and is an important second team player. One to watch for
the year, if not for anything else than the comedy cricket he adds to the team. Good luck, he'll need it.
