17th JUNE
Bitteswell II V Huncote CC (Friendly) Huncote win by 12 runs

MOM : Carl Spencer - 30, 7-0-30-3

It's almost now too easy for the Huncote Sunday Friendly team, and despite being faced by a tedious "timed" game they still produced the goods in beating Bitteswell. 1st team skipper Carl "Speno" Spencer, on his first outing on Sundays this year, showed why he still has a great reputation at the club, batting and bowling well. Back to form was Al "bobby dazzler" Somner, who rolled back the years with a stylish 47.

The young guns supported well, and Frazed and Confussed was unlucky to be run out at the end. Mention to must go to the departing Max Swords, who played his last game for the club this year, before undergoing knee surgery (ahem) back in Norfolk.

Huncote, won the toss and PK elected to batted. This was the second time Freddy had won the toss, and batting was the only option. In 44 overs, Huncote managed 179 for 7, and declared at tea, leaving Bitteswell around 40 overs to beat the total. PK knew he only won if they are all out and thus, opened the bowling with new pace bowler James Brewin. This had the desired effect as he took 2 wickets and bowled well.

Speny, Crossley and JW and supported well, and Max gave the opponents hope, but it was left to the Twigster to finish the game, bowling the number 11 with a trade mark "shooter" in the last over. Well played by Huncote and mention to must go to comedy keeper Tim Kirby, who despite much jip from the team, still took two catches!
