List of Officers Appointed at the 2004 Huncote CC AGM

Chairman - Stan Sexton

Stan continues his role as Chairman of the club.  Stan has good links to local business and is an important factor at any club meetings.  Stan also acts as the figure head for the club and has tied up a number of crucial sponsorship deals for the club in 2004.  Also a very good player, and coach, Stan is frequently found at the top of the averages for the club.  Hopefully his knowledge of the game can be passed on.

First Team Captain - Ian Crossley

Ian is a very valuable player for the club, and has scored the most runs for the last three seasons.  An excellent opening bat, Ian has also gained the complete respect of his team, and the club as a whole.  Now in his second year at the helm the club will be looking to push for promotion to the top division.

A good leader, and an excellent clubman, Ian is also know to bowl and takes a number of wickets for the Spearheads, of which he is also a regular player.

Second Team Captain - Eddie Statford

Eddie has played for the club since it started in 1904 and can always be seen displaying an array of interesting equipment.  One of the key players in the Second team's form over the recent seasons, Eddie is an excellent bowler, who can add a number of runs towards the top of the order.  Has the respect of the players, now in his second season at the helm.

League Secretary - Geoff Farmer

Geoff Farmer has been involved with the club for many seasons and remains an important figure at the club.  At regular at league meetings Geoff is welcomed back onto the committee for another year.

Also a key player for the second team, Geoff can bat, bowl and is also useful behind the stumps.  Hopefully another good year to come from Mr Farmer.

General Secretary - Brian Driver

Former Northampton based player who combines his excellent playing skills, with sound business sense.  New to the role this season, Brian is in charge of events at the club, such as this years tour, and the new 6 a side tournament.  Brian will be a big asset to the club once again this year.

Spearhead Captain - Peter Kirby

Third year in a row that Pete Kirby has been head of the Spearhead side.  Two excellent years in charge have lead to the reappointment of this young captain.  His excellent leadership skills are sometimes visible, about as much as his excellent spin bowling.  Player on the up in the club.

Treasurer - Alan Sommer

Huncote CC are delighted to get Alan Sommer on board for this seasons committee.  An excellent left handed bat, Alan's shrewd money sense will be a massive asset to the bank funds of the club.  A role model for the younger members of the cricket club, Alan leads by examples and headed the batting averages for the second team last time out.

First Team Vice Captain - Tim Kirby

Often an outspoken individual, Tim Kirby is not one to back down from any challenge.  This youngster has been excellent with bat and ball for the club in recent seasons, and it comes as no surprise that Ian Crossley was more than happy to have Tim as his second in command.  Tim plays in an attacking manner, and looks to get the opposition on the back foot.  Needs to keep his feet on the ground in 2004.

Second Team Vice Captain - James Swann

At 16 years of age you would be forgiven for thinking James Swann was too young for a position of responsibility.  But James has excellent composure and is well respected in and out the club.  Definitely a player for the future, Swanny will combine his astute tactical knowledge, with his understanding of the game.  Has been in practice for a leadership role recently, after being chosen as "Assistant Manager of Upstairs Shoes" at Sports Soccer.

Spearheads Vice Captain - Frazer Hubbard

Still younger than Swanny is Frazer Hubbard.  No one can doubt the talent that Frazer has, but his temperament can be a little explosive at times.  Hopefully this role should lead this youngster into following his fathers footsteps as both an excellent batsman, and a fantastic keeper.  Frazer has a history of captaincy after taking the role for the Croft Junior team last season.  Also had trials for the County and played regional cricket, Frazer is an excellent talent.
