Huncote Spearheads V Cosby Wolverines 5/15/2003 - Wolverines Win By Losing Fewer Wickets

In a tightly fought game, both sides finished on exactly 83. Cosby Wolverines went through this Midweek Cup Tie by virtue of losing fewer wickets. A good effort from Huncote who fielded a young side. Solid performances from Wayne Smith bowling, James Swann, and Geoff Farmer with the bat, and all round from Brian Driver.

Needing 3 to win off the final ball, Swann could not get it away too far, and Knibbs was run out attempting that suicidal third run. Earlier the top order of Huncote all failed, with Crossley, Hubbard, Kirby and Brewin all posting single figures. Hopefully the midweek league should kick off soon, and give the Spearheads a chance to redeem themselves.
