Newbold Verdon 1st V Huncote 1st 26/07/03 - Rain - Match Abandonded

With the skies looking grey and the forecast not good this was a game that was never going to be finished. Huncote lost the toss and were put into bat, Crossley 46, Brewin 20 and Webb 14 Not out were the only decent contributions as Huncote compiled 111 all out.

Newbold had to then face 8 overs before tea, which they managed although some aggressive bowling from Wayne Smith and Tim Kirby made this a testing period. After tea scoring became easier and only a Driver wicket was added to the Huncote figures. The rain, which was persistent from the tea interval gradually, got heavier and with the score on 54/1 the game was stopped. The rain continued and the contest was called a draw.

A bit of an escape for Huncote and 7 points gained I feel.
