Staines and Laleham Massive V Northampton Cavaliers 22/09/03 - The Massive Win by 56 Runs

Northampton Cavaliers, led by Pete Lill, came unstuck in this game, as the Staines and Laleham Massive ran riot. Only Pete Kirby and James Brewin offered any real resistance with the bat as the Massive total of 233 never looked on. Earlier Foster and Sharma both hit 50's as Staines showed their class, amasing a big total after winning the toss.

Pete Kirby's 50 took an age in reply, following up good bowling from Carl Sommer, James Brewin, and James Swann. Brewin used his brand of big hitting to wind up the bowlers as usual, and Hall's blend of swearing and bad nature in this friendly perhaps earned him what he deserved, an early shower after being struck with the ball.

Still a good start to the Northampton Tour, Ben Crossley, and Glen Barber also bowling well. Geoff Farmer also had a brief cameo with the bat, but the rest struggled. Without the big runs you come to expect from the class of the Sommer's and Lill things looked bleak.
