Wigston Town 2nd V Huncote 2nd 10/05/2003 - Wigston Gain Winning Draw

Eddie won the toss and put Wigston into bat first, but he game was delayed for 20 mins due to some creative map reading and some follow my leader driving by the younger element of the team, leaving us with only 6 players to start. When they did arrive we started and had to chase the ball all around the field. We had a couple of early wickets from Eddie and Ben but due to the lack of bowlers we found it difficult to take wickets then the cavalry arrived in the form of Leroy to bring the side to 11 thanks to Dave Horstcraft. In the mean time the Wigston opener got to his 100 but was soon out caught one handed by the silver fox Stan in the slips. Wigston closed on 231 for 5 wickets off their 45 overs, which were bowled before 4.50pm so at least we got back with the time limit. Eddie finished as the most successful bowler with 3-43 off his twelve overs.

James and Jamie opened the batting with James hitting 12 off the first two overs but Jamie and Alan Sommer both out in the 3rd over for nought. Eddie came in and he and James took the score along to 43 before James was out for 27 trying to hit the ball out of the ground, but it did not come off. In came the Webbmiester who like Eddie both were dropped by the same guy and both were dollies. But Eddie ran out Webby on a suicidal 2nd run, in came Ross but was soon on his way back it was probably to cold for him. Frazer came in and look the part scoring easily. Eddie was next out after looking good it may have been the phone call from carol that upset his concentration, Leroy was next although not the best technique he did hit a 4 but was out stumped, in came Geoff who with Fraz took the score over 100 to get a batting point things were just dying into a draw but Wigston brought back the opening fast bowler who accounted for Fraz. Stan came in an we managed to get a second batting point and finished on 133 for the loss of 8 wickets to get the losing draw.
