Broughton receive Huncote backlash.

On a hot sticky day Ross Blockley won the toss and elected to bat not expecting to be on the end of an awesome bowling display by the Huncote openers. Kirby and Smith took the new ball and took very little time in striking as Orton tried to to drive an in swinging delivery and was bowled. The master of mayhem then came to the crease and drover at his third ball finding a think edge which flew into the hands of Carl Spencer at 2nd slip, Smith striking twice in one over. Smith was in the middle of a purple patch as he then bowled Gurney and Araujo in consecutive balls. In his very next over he got his 5th victim with Underwood well caught at short leg by Crossley.

8 for 5 became 8 for 6 when Kirby had Dann caught by Driver at point and Broughton were reeling. Matt Gurney rallied with 23 but wickets kept tumbling around him, Lark was clean bowled by an in swinging Kirby yorker and Hill was bowled by Smith to give him his 6th victim. Devlin and Gurney were now going all out attack and Driver dropped Gurney before catching him 2 overs later for 23. Next ball and it was all over as Kirby had Morrell caught behind first ball. Broughton all out for 46 in 20.4 overs.

Hubbard and Crossley opened the batting with 23 overs before tea due. Broughton went on the attack with slips, silly point and short leg all in place. This just added to the quick scoring as both openers made short work of reaching the target. Underwood, Lark and Gurney all tried and failed to make the breakthrough and the winning runs were hit by Crossley with a push through vacant mid on.

Huncote win by 10 wickets in the best performance of the year.
