Burton on the Wolds held out for a losing draw at the Spearing Waite Bowl, with Huncote just shading proceedings.  A broken tractor resulted in a long out field and less runs than usual, but non the less it was a good game and very competitive.  Tim Kirby topped the scoring for the home side, who had elected to bat, with 50.  Ian Crossley, 44, and Haroon Khawaja, 24, offered decent support, as late wickets fell in the search for extra runs.  Peck and Markley bowled well in picking up 7 wickets between them, and a decent performance from both sides.  171-9 the final total.

The score proved too big, as Huncote picked up regular wickets.  Two excellent Frank Hubbard stumpings were the highlight, and decent innings from Peck and then Fisher kept Burton in the hunt.  Khawaja bowled well in collecting three wickets, and there were also wickets for Tim Kirby, Driver, Swann and Sommer.  Burton held on at the end, as Huncote collected a well earned 15 point haul, a decent end to their home campaign.  BOTW 154-8.
