Huncote Spearheads V Collingtree Crusaders 09/05/04 - Huncote win by 9 wickets
Huncote won this match at a canter, as Tim Kirby played for the opposition
who were short. Pete Kirby won the toss for the home side, and
uncharacteristically decided to bowl, on what was a wet surface. The
Spearheads bowling was excellent, the highlight being a hat trick for Jason
Scrimshire, on debut!! Some good batting late on saw the Crusaders to 133
off their allotted overs.
Despite the early loss of vice captain Frazer Hubbard, the Spearheads never
looked in trouble, as Carl Spencer and Alan Sommer, both struck unbeaten
fifties. Tea was great as usual and a good start to the Spearhead season.
