Huncote 1st V Hathern Old 1st 10/07/04 - Huncote Win by 7 Wickets

A solid performance from Huncote, with both bat, ball and in the field.  A few catches when down, but other than that pretty comfortable for the home side.  Ian Crossley won the toss and elected to bowl.  This proved a good decision as Hathern started at a slow pace, with Tim Kirby and Wayne Smith picking up early wickets.  Batsmen came and went, and there were plenty of plays and misses as the scoring rate only increased when Leeson showed his form adding some decent runs.  In the end the visitors were bowled out for 86, Tim Kirby picking up 6-41, and Wayne Smith 3-43.  There was also a run out, a decent throw from Pete Kirby, saw brother Tim take the bails off.

The Huncote reply was short, very short.  Despite the early loss of Ian Crossley, James Brewin and Haroon Khawaja found some early boundaries.  When these pair well in close succession, Mark Schutz and Ross Spencer finished the job in 12.2 overs.  Spencer top scoring with 29.  A good performance from Huncote.
