Huncote 2nd V Leicester Ivanhoe 2nd 05/06/04 - Huncote Win By 1 Wicket

Huncote 2nds held their nerve in this closely fought encounter to win by just one wicket. Ivanhoe batted first and John Smith was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets at less than three an over. For Ivanhoe, Newberry hit a decent 50, but lacked support. Stratford picked up 3 wickets and their was one a piece for Lill and Swann.

In reply the Huncote top order all added some runs. Pete Lill topped the scoring with 28, and later Craig Webb hit a huge six. Wickets kept falling though and their was controversy late on as Ivanhoe were unfortunately not aware about the rules of cricket, by Frazer Hubbard hit the winning runs, with overs, if not wickets to spare.
