Huncote CC TK's Crew V Orange Instruments 28/06/04 - TK's Crew Win by 4 Runs

In a game played in excellent spirit, Huncote CC led by Tim Kirby came out on top in the last over against a side from Orange Instruments, first team sponsor. A good performance from both teams with a number of people playing cricket for the first time. Brewin and Smith knocked it about a bit for the home side, with George Crossley and Tim Kirby also in the runs. Wickets for Dave Watts, caught by Paul Mytton, Steve Jacques, Shane Thompson and Matt from AB Cables. Andy Hayward picked up a catch and run out the usually quick between the wickets Carl Sommer!

In Orange's innings, Pete Webb and Matt from AB Cables led a spirited reply, but Aaron Webb, George Crossley, Mitch Torr, and debutant Sam Horscraft bowled well to keep the score in check. Paul Mytton and Andy Hayward added some late runs, but Tim Kirby, Carl Sommer, and James Brewin bowled well at the death to stop the late charge from Dave Watts, Liam McEntee and one ball for Pete Kirby.

All in all a good game played in excellent spirit, some very dodgy scoring and umpiring but a great night. A good BBQ to finish and a big thanks to all that helped organise the game.
