Another solid performance from the Huncote team, and another 24 points.  Huncote showed their quality in both the bowling departments and the lower order batting, as Sapcote were sent home disappointed.  Sapcote captain Flannery won the toss and elected to field.  Some early penetrative, if sometimes wayward, bowling took the wickets of Hubbard, Schutz, Kirby, and Spencer, before Driver steadied the ship with skipper Ian Crossley.   Brewin came in when Driver fell and soon the scoring rate was increasing.  When Crossley, Tim Kirby and first Brewin fell it left the score at 120-8 and looking very bleak.

But an excellent 50 partnership between Sommer and Knibbs took the score well past 175 runs.  Sommer's crafty running and the big hitting of Knibbs complemented each other, as the scoring rate kept up the momentum.  Some cracking drives from Knibbs and a late cameo from Wayne Smith took the score to 192 all out in 44 overs.  Bartett the pick of the away team bowlers, maintaining a decent line and length where others struggled.

Sapcote had no answer to Huncote's opening bowlers, despite Musson and Flannery both looking solid.  The two stocky bowlers, Smith and Tim Kirby, ripped through the visitors as Sapcote were bowled out for 57.  Tim Kirby picked up 6-26, and Smith 4-40.  Another good team performance from Huncote.
