Pete Kirby won the toss and as always elected to bat.

Swords and PK opened the batting with birthday boy Tim Kirby moaning about being worst for wears from the night before coming in three. The opening pair scored well and the first wicket fell after the 18th over when Swords was caught behind enemy lines for 30. PK fell next on 55. Then Webby joined TK at the crease, they made a good partnership and when Webby plucked out a satellite and was caught, Huncote still looked in a good position. Tk got out on 65 and left the Hubbards at the crease. Fraz got out on 2 caught in 3rd slip and Jason Schrimshire came to the crease to score 2 from the remaining 3 balls. Which left Huncote on a comfortable 230 for 4.

Whirlybobs started well and put on a good opening stand. Carl "Twiggy" Sommer and James Swann opened the bowling well, but were hit for more runs later on in their spells. When Twiggy was replaced by Jason Schrimshire Huncote were in the box seat. After a couple more overs from Swann he was replaced by Brewin and 2 overs for 30 runs showed why Huncote started to become worried. Brewin only bowled two overs and was replaced by Tim. The runs seemed to dry up and Jason finished off his 6 overs and was replaced by Farmboy, who bowled well.

The Whirlybobs were going along slowly until Huncotes fielding went to pieces and DJ Mitch Hubbard allowed several byes go. After Tim finished his maximum 8 overs Twiggy and Jason were left with the task to stop 20 runs in 4 overs. Some good bowling was let down by bad fielding so 4 from the last over was all that was required. Whirlybobs got it from the 1st 3 balls.

Some bad fielding by Huncote meant that Whirlybobs had won by 5 wickets anybody wishing to improve their, fielding 7 till 8 up at Huncote Sports and Social Club.
