Huncote 1st V Birstall Village 14/05/2005 - Huncote Gain Losing Draw

Huncote first match of the season ended in a losing draw.  Captain Tim Kirby won the toss and asked Birstall to bat.  Good knocks from Galpin, 32, Lord 67no, and Snuggs 24, meant the score finished at 173-7.  Luke Dyke, Wayne Smith, Tim Kirby and Carl Sommer in the wickets.

Huncote mounted a serious challenge in reply, with Crossley, Tim Kirby, and Ross Spencer all adding runs.  Fisher and Corbett however pegged back wickets at regular intervals and the home team had to settle for a draw.  Huncote will have to improve their batting in games to come, but credit Birstall for their restrictive bowling.
