Braunstone Cricketers V Huncote 2nd 28/05/2005 - Huncote Lose By 6 Wickets
It was a warm but blustery day in a scary place called Braunstone. Huncote
where first to bat with Frubs and Knibbs opening it was a steady start but after
a solid partnership Knibbs was trapped LBW by a ball that turned a mile from M
Marshall. Al then joined the crease and hoped to build on the good start but
Frubs soon played his premeditated rubbish and got caught. Steady joined the
crease and put on a good strong run scoring spell until a good catch from A Bird
saw him walking home. Webby then tried his hand at some action and was back to
his usual ways of block hit block block hit. Steady was then bowled and Webby
triggered in a run out that looked to be off Brian Lara Cricket IN. But Huncote
struggled on and with some heart in mouth running from twiggy and some good
drives from Sideshow found Huncote in a position they would have taken before
the game.
A good salad dinner was taken until back out into the windy storm.
Haven taken tea we resumed but once out in the middle the batsman thought we had
changed the game to golf. This we thought would be fun but it seamed to be a
great hustle due to the 89 he smashed. Some good bowling was followed by some
bad as Huncote struggled to get their rhythm. When A Bird entered the crease we
still thought there was hope but some missed catches and good strength from the
batsman meant they were in the box seat. Steady then joined the attack with
Betty but it was a to little to late as Braunstone won by 6 wickets.
